Our Story

During the Summer of 2023, Presque Isle Fish & Game membership voted to create a 501(c)(3) to further the broader mission of wildlife conservation. The Aroostook Sportsman Association (ASA) was named to acknowledge and include the communities we serve in Aroostook County, Maine. As a 501(c)3, we will be able to hold public fundraising events and have more of an impact in Presque Isle, Ashland, Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Mars Hill, Houlton, Fort Kent, and other nearby communities.

The Aroostook Sportsman Association operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, programs, and projects. ASA’s goals include promoting and providing education on field sports, wildlife conservation, and scientific wildlife management practices.

No other group does more for our wildlife or wild places than deer hunters, moose and bear hunters, duck hunters, trout and salmon fishermen, and others in field sports. Any decline in hunting is of great concern since hunting provides the lion’s share of funding for wildlife conservation work.

The Aroostook Sportsman Association is committed to growing our numbers and ensuring the future of our hunting heritage, wildlife, and habitat.

The ASA is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit, volunteer organization that relies 100% on sponsor memberships. Donations are tax deductible, so give generously today!
